Abstract

In October 2022, a combination of 7 cities in West Java experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 5.93 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.15. The highest yoy inflation occurred in Tasikmalaya City at 6.57 percent with a CPI of 110.99 and the lowest occurred in Cirebon City at 5.41 percent with a CPI of 109.84.
  • Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 7.88 percent; clothing and footwear group by 2.43 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 4.29 percent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 4.75 percent; health group by 2.15 percent; transportation group by 12.34 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 1.45 percent; education group by 4.05 percent; food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 4.67 percent; and personal care and other services group by 6.57 percent. While the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in the index, namely the information, communication and financial services group by 0.59 percent.
  • The month to month (mtm) inflation rate for October 2022 was -0.11 percent and the year to date (ytd) inflation rate for October 2022 was 5.16 percent.
