March 2019 West Java Poverty Rate at 6.91 Percent and Income Inequality at 0.402

Abstract

In March 2019, the number of poor people (people with per capita expenditure per month below the poverty line) in West Java decreased by around 140.2 thousand people, from 3,539.40 thousand people (7.25 percent) in September 2018 to 3,399.16 thousand people (6.91 percent) in March 2019.

The Gini Ratio value has decreased from 0.405 to 0.402. When viewed by region, the Gini Ratio value in urban areas decreased to 0.410 from 0.413 in the previous period and in rural areas it increased from 0.315 to 0.319.
