There was Inflation of 0.08 Percent on Composite Seven Cities in Jawa Barat

Abstract

February 2009, CPI Composite Jawa barat (CPI 2007 = 100) covering 7 cities of Bandung City, Cirebon City, Tasikmalaya City, Bekasi City, Bogor City, Sukabumi City and Depok City experienced inflation of 0.08 percent. Throughout 2009 ( January-February) there was deflation of 0.20 percent, while year-on-year inflation (February 2009 to February 2008) was 7.80 percent. In February 2009, five out of seven expenditure groups experienced inflation, the highest in groups 2.29 percent followed by foodstuff category 1.49 percent, food, beverages, cigarette & tobacco 0.60 percent, health 0.20 percent and education, recreation & sports 0.03 percent, while two groups others experienced deflation, namely transportation, communication & financial services group and housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel respectively 2.78 and 0.02 percent respectively.
