Abstract

Entering the second quarter of 2008, the Economic Growth Rate (LPE) of Jawa Barat as measured by the increase of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) against the previous quarter (qtq) of 1.08 percent. The highest growth was achieved by finance, leasing and business services sector by 8.03 percent, followed by the manufacturing sector by 6.41 percent and third position with 6.28 percent growth occupied by transportation and telecommunication sector, while the lowest growth was on the sector of agriculture minus 14.64 percent. In year on year (yoy), that is when compared to second quarter of 2007, GDP growth in second quarter of 2008 reached 4.68 percent. The highest yoy growth was achieved by the manufacturing sector by 9.54 percent, while the lowest growth was in mining and quarrying at minus 15.92 percent.
